Kyleena Intrauterine delivery system (IUS).

Kyleena is an Intrauterine System (IUS), which is a long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) and is efficient for a duration of 5 years. Kyleena has 19.5mg of levonorgestrel, a hormone used in birth control pills to prevent pregnancy.

 

Nature and contents of the container

• The product is individually packed into a thermoformed blister package (PETG) with a peelable lid (PE).
• Pack sizes: 1x1 and 5x1.
• The product has a white or light yellow drug centre, a partly see-through membrane covers it. The drug centre attaches to the vertical stem of a T-shaped body. In addition, the vertical stem contains a silver ring located close to the horizontal arms.
• The white T-body has a loop at one end of the vertical stem and two horizontal arms at the other end. The blue-coloured removal threads are attached to the loop.
• The inserter loads the vertical stem of the IUS into the insertion tube at its tip. The inserter integrates a handle, slider, flange, lock, pre-bent insertion tube, and plunger. The insertion tube and handle contain the removal threads.
